This Magickal Child from Michigan farmlands is an actress, burlesque headliner, danger artist, raw vegan fitspo and living proof of what a child raised in love grows up to be.
Known for the moxie, physicality and depth of characters she creates, Tonya Kay plays drama and comedy equally. Look for her as dramatic lead, DEB, the other wife, in Lifetime movie, The Other Wife (Nov 2015). You can see her other acting leads in Bastard, A Better Place, Dark Space, Paradise Club, The Butchers and Bold Native feature films and The Kill Corporation, Video Game Reunion, Silverwood: Final Recordings and The Art of Murder web series.
On television, you’ve recognized her hosting with Penn Jillette on the Travel Channel‘s Street Cred, performing sketch comedy with Neil Patrick Harris on the 38th Annual People’s Choice Awards and hamming it up with Conan O’Brien on the Tonight Show. You’ve seen her in The Muppets Movie, Lone Ranger, on The Voice, Speed TV’s My Ride Rules, Glee and Criminal Minds.
Her fighting and stunt coordination work kicks ass in Raze opposite Zoe Bell, stunt doubling for PINK, stunt coordinating Mac Miller and Corey Feldman and stunt consulting on tv’s Bones.
Nothing makes Tonya Kay happier than when her ideals and art combine. It has been this long term raw vegan’s distinct pleasure to work with fellow vegan celebrities Ellen Degeneres, Russell Brand, Rob Zombie, Nathan Barnatt, Emily Deschanel and director Gene Blalock.
As a stage performer, Tonya Kay has toured in STOMP, with Panic At The Disco and Kenny Rogers. She has performed aerial with De La Guarda, danced in New York and LA concert tap dance companies and is a Second City Hollywood trained improv comedian, starring in Lip Dub Divorce Proposal which was featured on The Today Show and went viral.
She is known as The Most Dangerous Woman in Hollywood as a burlesque headliner and won Best Burlesque from the 2015 LA Neo Noir Film Fest. She is the creator and producer of Pinup Pole Show – classic cars, pinup girls, retro-burlesque and pole champions. But there is more to Tonya Kay than her multi-faceted performance career.
Tonya Kay graduated Valedictorian of her high school class, but chose not to continue with traditional education. She owns Solid Hollywood and is a philanthropist, generously donating to NORML, The Serengeti Foundation, The Tree People, The Witch’s Voice, Survival International, Animal Defenders International, Performing Animal Welfare Society, Sea Turtles Restoration Project, Center for Biological Diversity and Wild Horse Preservation Fund. She has traveled 18 countries to volunteer with endangered species conservation organizations including sea turtles with Costa Rica’s PRETOMA, wild dogs with South Africa’s Wildlife ACT and the Asian elephant with Thailand’s Elephant Nature Park. And she writes about it all. Tonya Kay is an award-winning writer of EcoHearth’s Clean and Green Everyday column and Pyragraph’s Film/Stage column.
When she is not rebuilding her 1965 Buick Riviera classic hot rod, Tonya Kay is seeking out organic farmer’s markets, sustainable vineyards and life-changing art. It is this renegade’s passion to shape reality, push evolution, exist in love and take the whole wide world along for the ride.
